If you find a garden, do you doubt the existence of a gardener?
If you find an architectural masterpiece, do you doubt the existence of an architect?
If you find an unparalleled piece of art, do you doubt the existence of an artist?
This universe (down to the tiniest detail) is the greatest piece of art, architecture, and engineering imaginable.
There’s a fake dilemma that science and faith are opposites. This dissolves away when you get to know God as the architect of all order in the universe, the creator of humanity, the one who instructs us in the right way to act, the one we humans continually rebel against, the one who’s heart is broken by that rebellion and it’s effects in the world, the one who redeems us from the consequence of that rebellion, your good father, your friend, and your king.
Below is a debate between Richard Dawkins and John Lennox (retired Emeritus Professor of Mathematics at Oxford University).
You can know, with certainty, that God truly exists because:
1. He has revealed Himself through creation. This universe, from galaxies down to butterflies, is beautiful beyond description and declares the ingenuity of it’s creator.
2. He has revealed Himself to you as a friend and your redeemer. The historical record shows that: a) Jesus walked this earth. b) He claimed to be God in the flesh. c) He died by crucifixion. d) His tomb was empty after 3 days as He claimed it would be. e) Those closest to Him (including his own brother James) believed that He was God in the flesh, died for their sin, and rose again on the third day. f) They believed it so firmly that they couldn’t stop talking about it, and most of them died for that.
3. You can know Him yourself. When you submit yourself to the God who made you, turn away from your sin, and choose to believe and obey your creator, your life will be changed by the power of His spirit at work in your life.
